ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT

 

Justine Obiakor graduated from CHS in 2010. After graduation she attended San Jose State University for a semester before transferring to San Diego State University. During her time as an SDSU Aztec, Justine was a Peer Advisor for SDSU’s Study Abroad Office and a Peer Health Educator at SDSU's Clinic Health Promotion Department. She also mentored freshmen and transfer students for SDSU’s College of Sciences’ Introductory to Campus Activities and Networking (ICAN) program. She was also an active member of the Students for Public Health and Black Student Science Organization (BSSO) clubs.

 

During her senior year, she was selected to participiate in a health policy internship at the San Diego American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network. Justine graduated from SDSU in 2015 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Public Health and a minor in International Security and Conflict Resolutions (ISCOR). Afterwards, she became a member of the Health Career Connection Network and was placed at a local grassroots organization called Mid-City CAN in the urban/low-income community of City Heights San Diego for a 10 week placement.


Justine is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Health Policy at the City University of London in the United Kingdom. She also serves as a member on Amnesty International UK Women’s Action Network Committee. Justine plans to study international human rights law in hopes of one day working for the United Nations.
