Maria Quintero

María Quintero graduated from Cajon in 2005. While there, she was involved in the Peer Leadership program, Art Club, International Baccalaureate, drama, and community service efforts. She was the first member of her Mexican immigrant family to complete her undergraduate studies and earned a dual degree in History and Latin American Studies from California State University, Fullerton. She worked on a wide-range of public history projects throughout California, including the resource study to establish the Cesar E. Chavez National Historic Monument. She then left the west coast to complete an M.A. in Public Humanities at Brown University and centered her professional pursuits around making cultural institutions reflect the histories of people of color to better serve diverse communities. Currently, as the Outreach and Programs Coordinator at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in Boston, MA, she works to offer engaging programs for diverse audiences and maximize the reach of the educational offerings. While now settled on the east coast, she remains connected to the Cajon area through strong family ties and a deep appreciation for her San Bernardino roots.
