Jan Andres graduated from CHS in 2001. After receiving a BA in English and Mass Communications from UC Berkeley, she attended Claremont Graduate University, where she earned an MA in Literature and Film and a PhD in American Literature. As a graduate student, Jan worked as the coordinator the writing center at Pitzer College and earned a Fulbright Fellowship to Poland, where she taught writing while studying the legacy of US cultural ambassadorship during the Cold War. She is a professor of English at Riverside City College.
